Willamette: The Pinot Noir Auction is now online!

Tuesday, August 11 - Thursday, August 13

In light of public health measures for the state of Oregon, the Willamette Valley Wineries Association is reinventing the fifth annual Willamette: The Pinot Noir Auction as an entirely online event. This means all in-person events, including the related dinners and tastings, are cancelled in accordance with statewide limitations on public gatherings. Virtual tasting events and auction lot samples are available for registered bidders.

WILLAMETTE, in its fifth year in 2020, is the leading event to showcase Willamette Valley Pinot noir while helping support the promotion of this exceptional Oregon wine region.

At Willamette: The Pinot Noir Auction, influencers of the wine trade get to experience what makes Oregon remarkable, exemplified in unique expressions of Pinot noir and Chardonnay from some of the region’s top wineries.

From August 3 - 7, 80 wineries and winemakers will host a series of collective virtual tastings and one-on-one virtual tastings to introduce their wines. Starting on August 11, registered trade will have access to the online auction site and can begin placing bids. Bidding continues through August 13, when the event culminates in a live, virtual close of the Auction, hosted by esteemed auctioneer Fritz Hatton.

For the 2020 Auction, the Willamette Valley Wineries Association is pleased to announce a charitable partnership with the James Beard Foundation Open for Good Industry Fund. All funds raised on lots beyond their opening bids, as well as through the paddle raise pledge, will go to the Open for Good Industry Fund.

Proceeds from Auction lot opening bids support the marketing, branding and education efforts of the Willamette Valley Wineries Association.
