Wine Advocate 90+ scores on | Schramsberg/Davies Vineyards

Robert Parker has published his December 2015 Northern California report (Parts 1 and 2) on Below are the 90+ scores for Schramsberg and Davies Vineyards:

Schramsberg 2012 Blanc de Blancs, North Coast 92 "One of my favorite cuvées ... This is a killer effort and it's my go-to sparkling wine when I'm at restaurants since it's always available at a fair price. The 2012 shows loads of orange blossom notes, crisp green apple notes, a touch of caramelized grapefruit in a gorgeously fresh, medium-bodied, concentrated and delicious sparkling wine with tiny, pinpoint bubbles and a long, zesty finish ..."

Schramsberg 2012 Brut Rosé, North Coast 94 "Another big-time winner ... This wine is ripe, broad, savory, shows tiny bubbles, comes across fresh with kirsch-like aromatics and flavors. It's dry, medium-bodied, zesty and exuberant ..."

Schramsberg 2007 J. Schram, North Coast 94 "... This shows loads of honeyed tropical fruit such as pineapple and mango, a touch of white peach, beautiful body, wonderful pinpoint bubbles that are persistent, and a dry, crisp, long finish ...  A tasting some of the older vintages, such as the 2004, 2001, 1999, 1996, proved just how amazingly well these can age."

Schramsberg 2007 J. Schram Rosé, North Coast 95 "… This is a killer sparking rosé, and really the best sparkling wine I've ever tasted from California or the New World. Rich, full-bodied, with notes of strawberry, kirsch, cherries and rose petals. The wine has terrific intensity, wonderful freshness, a full-bodied, gorgeously proportioned mouthfeel and a long, long finish."

Schramsberg NV Mirabelle Brut Rosé, California 90 "... This shows a light pink color, beautiful delicate notes of strawberries and currants, crisp acids, a fresh, lively zesty style and medium body."

Schramsberg 2007 Reserve, North Coast 94 "... This is crisp, elegant, shows structure, creamy honeyed richness, beautiful opulence, medium to full body and stunning brioche, honeysuckle and apple marmalade-like notes."

Davies Vineyards 2013 Pinot Noir, Nobles Vineyard, Sonoma Coast 91 "... This wine comes across like a Musigny from Burgundy. Notes of crushed rock, red currants, black cherries, plum and forest floor are all present in this dense, dark ruby-colored wine that is rich, concentrated, round and capable of evolving for a decade or more."

Davies Vineyards 2013 J. Davies Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Diamond Mountain District, Napa Valley 91 “… exhibits floral and black and red currant notes, background oak and earth, medium to full body, beautiful purity and a harmonious, well-balanced mouthfeel and length.” (NOTE: Wine to release August 2016)
